If you like murder mysteries, make yourself a cup of tea and throw on Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. And you can access all of its titles for 7 per month. Acorn TV is a streaming service that houses British dramas, comedies, mysteries, and documentaries. Maybe I'm just getting old but I think Acorn are offering something a bit different. 3 min read We may earn money when you click our links. Acorn may have quite a lot less content but I find this easier! There is also a sense of quietness - no advertising, no pop ups, you are allowed to let the credits roll after viewing without immediately being jarred into the next episode.there's even a dark blank screen when the credits have finished, leaving me time to absorb what I've just seen and decide for myself whether to watch the next episode! Also, a lot of the dramas Acorn offer are very 'landscapey' (in the way that Wallander or Vera were). I can scroll and scroll through the content of those channels and end up watching nothing - maybe they are too vast. I think it's a very 'quirky' range of programmes that are on offer - not like Amazon or Netflix at all. I have not tried to contact Customer Services or cancel my free trial so can't comment on those but I did decide to let my free trail run on as I really like the service. I was sorry to read all the negative reviews of Acorn TV here. Update: On 4/15/2 Acorn agreed to refund my subscription fee after informing them I would take legal action if necessary. If you run Linux, don't even think about paying Acorn for any service. In scene after scene, we just want to slap the characters. Petzal’s writing is unusually sharp, but often hard to watch. MANHUNT (Acorn TV Original Series) 1 rated ITV British miniseries based upon the memoirs of former London Metropolitan detective DCI Colin Sutton (Martin Clunes, Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly) who determinedly and tenaciously pursued serial killer Levi Bellfield. Blood has been likened to the original Broadchurch, which is an apt comparison with respect to overwhelming angst they both share. They have not offered any solutions for Linux systems and apparently are not concerned about the loss of service to the many Linux subscribers. Blood could be the darkest, moodiest, most devastating mystery series you will ever binge. They refuse to take any responsibility for the problem caused by them for Linux users and refuse to refund any of the subscription fee. However, I have issues with Amazon's presentation of the subscription and its Acorn TV app. For 4.99 per month, I do not find anything that can compare. For over a month I have had email exchanges where each reply ignored the Linux issue and only suggested fixes like using the latest browser versions, upgrading my HDMI cable and other Windows related fixes. The eight-part mystery series Harry Wild Investigates launches on Channel 5 on Saturday February 25 at 8pm with episodes running weekly at the same time. SEE UPDATE FOLLOWING MY INITIAL REVIEW I think Acorn TV hosts some of the finest TV available anywhere (primarily British TV) ranging from the likes of Marple and Poirot to Doc Martin. I informed their customer service that I use Linux and that their DRM change has made it impossible to stream their content using any available browser. Two weeks after joining Acorn changed their streaming service with a new DRM and I could no longer stream the programs.
